Opportunity of the Week @ Wandsworth Council
This week's featured volunteer opportunity is:
The training for volunteer walk leaders is a one-day course for anyone willing and able to lead walks in the community. It is a practical course that gives advice to people who want to lead or support Walk4Life/Walking for Health programmes. It includes practice in leading a walk, how to keep people safe, how walking can help certain health conditions, and information on keeping people motivated.
The course is free for Wandsworth residents if they are willing to either set up a Walk4Life walk, or support and existing walking group. The Wandsworth Council Walk4Life team will support anyone looking to set up a new walk. We are particularly keen to set up walks in Roehampton and buggy walks for parents.
