Opportunity of the Week @ Groundwork London
This first of two featured volunteer opportunities this week is:
Do you have a keen interest in educating young people? Do you know anything about how to reduce our water consumption?
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative project delivering water education activities in secondary schools across London. The Water for Schools project aims to help school staff and students better understand their water usage and become more sustainable by reducing water usage through behavioural change. As a volunteer you will help assist with project administration and accompany the project staff as they deliver the project in the schools.
Based out of Groundwork's Morley Street Office - a short walk from Waterloo Station - the volunteer will be expected to be available for between 1-3 days per week and able to travel to sites and schools across London.
This role would suit someone interested in gaining experience in an environmental charity and/or experience of working with pupils in a Secondary School.
Groundwork are committed to providing volunteers with access to work experience and learning to support them to build their knowledge and skills while working within cutting edge community projects.
As a volunteer, you will work closely with your line manager to identify learning and development needs and to agree to short, medium and long term goals. We see this opportunity as a great way to not only contribute to valuable work but also as an excellent chance to build upon existing skills and learn new ones.
Groundwork London will cover travel expenses that are within the Greater London area as well as a contribution towards lunch for a full day of volunteering.
