Be a friendly face in your community by placing our shop collection boxes in your local shops, cafés, restaurants, libraries and leisure centres. Keep in touch with them, so you know when the boxes are full, then pay the collection into the charity account. You and your local community will be helping to save more young lives.

Volunteers spruce up the Commons to kick-off the Mayor’s Team London spring clean

The Mayor Boris Johnson called on Londoners to roll up their sleeves and help give their neighbourhoods a spring clean during a week of Capital Clean-up events from 9-17 March 2013.

Wandsworth residents responded to the call and a group of 20 volunteers helped spruce up Wimbledon and Putney Commons at a community clean up event on Saturday 9 March. Environmental regeneration charity Groundwork London and Volunteering Wandsworth worked with community volunteers to collect over 30 bin bags of litter from across the Commons.

Hundreds pick up DofE awards

Young people in Wandsworth are demonstrating more ‘get-up-and-go’ than their counterparts across London, with greater numbers taking part in Duke of Edinburgh’s (DofE) Award schemes than in any other borough.

Wandsworth currently has 2,074 enrolled on schemes - more than double the figure five years ago. And between March 2012 and February 2013 the borough's young people notched up a whopping 450 awards.
