London Marathon Event Supporter, Prostate Cancer UK
The London Marathon - 21 April 2013
The London Marathon is the UK's largest sports fundraising event and attracts huge support from both runners and spectators.
Each year 36,000 runners take to the streets of London to complete the 26.2 mile course. The atmosphere on the course is incredible with over 1 million spectators lining the route and cheering runners around the course.
This year Prostate Cancer UK has 300 runners taking part in the event - we are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to support the team on the day.
- Helping to spot Prostate Cancer UK runners along the route
- Cheering our team along at Prostate Cancer UK supporter points
Supporter points will be located at various points around the route, including:
- Mile 9 - Canada Water 09.30 - 12.00
- Mile 14 - The Narrow 09.45 - 13.15
- Mile 21 - Limehouse 10.15 - 15.00
- Mile 24.5 - Temple 10.15 - 16.00
Benefits to the Volunteer
Volunteers will have the chance to meet other like minded volunteers and have a unique and fun day out supporting Prostate Cancer UK. In adition they will gain experience working within a diverse and varied team as well as experience in events and events management.
If volunteers enjoy the experience there is lots of potentuial to get involved in other areas of the charity and receive training in additonal areas such as presentation skills.
