Get Active Wandsworth Festival 2013 Volunteer, Wandsworth Borough Council Leisure & Sport Services

Opportunity Description

We want 20 volunteers to assist with Wandsworth's Olympic legacy event this summer! We are expecting between 4 and 5,000 people at the Get Active Wandsworth Festival focal day on King George's Park, Wandsworth.

Volunteers will be needed to carry out 3 primary roles:

  1. Man one of 8 entrance points to the festival in pairs, ensuring all entrants are counted and receive the festival programme.
  2. Actively seek feedback from ALL participants at the festival (you will need to be approachable and pro-active and go through a quick feedback form with participants which should take no longer then 1 minute each).
  3. Assist with set-up and set down of the festival equipment.

Radio Jackie will be presenting the event and we will be showcasing loads of activities

Benefits to the Volunteer

You will receive an Active Wandsworth Force volunteer t-shirt, a water bottle and a high quality pen! Also volunteers will get experience of involvement at a mass participation event, collating analysis information and witnessing what effect the London 2013 Games has locally.

Lunch and breaks will be supplied for you.
Prizes will also be awarded to TOP Volunteer on the day and most number of feedback responses.

We can also supply support references for all volunteers at the event to assist with future recruitment and volunteer opportunities.

Once you have indicated interest in becoming a volunteer at the event you will be required to come in for a chat, then if successful some training prior to the event.
