The general election takes place on Thursday 7 May 2015. There are fewer than 100 days until voters go to the polls to elect a Member of Parliament.
Only people who are on the electoral register will be able to vote at this election.
It’s not too late to register. Anyone who has not registered to vote should visit www.gov.uk/register-to-vote immediately to apply. You should do this straightaway as the process can take several weeks.
In the next few weeks, every household in the borough will receive a letter confirming who is registered to vote. If this information is out of date, you will need to take action to correct it.
British, Irish and Commonwealth citizens are able to vote in general elections. Other European Union citizens can only vote in local elections, but still need to register.
