Volunteer needed for Tooting Folk and Blues Festival Volunteer

The event is Tooting Folk and Blues Festival! It will be held on the event site on Tooting
Bec Common on Saturday 8th August 2015 and will comprise of one main stage to deliver
a programme of 10 of the very best folk and blues musical acts from midday till 7pm. The
site will be supported by local food and drink traders, and we will invite local community
groups such Transition Town Tooting, Friends of Tooting Common, Wandsworth
Volunteers, Tooting and Balham Air Cadet Squadron to host stalls to promote their work.
We want our festival to achieve a true sense of cultural occasion, to enrich the local area
by providing a free day of music, to promote local musicians and community groups, and
to inspire like-minded people who love the culture to be involved! We would like to
promote community engagement by introducing local residents to local community groups
and traders, and to create economic benefits for the local food and drink traders who are
at the festival.

At this first free music festival in Tooting we believe volunteering at the event will be an
exciting and rewarding experience, offering the volunteer the opportunity to be part of their
community and connect with new friends. You will be warmly welcomed as part of a
family-run team who have boundless enthusiasm for making the event a creative, fun-filled
festival. [You will be given a free meal of their choice from one of the food stalls and a drink from
one of the drink stalls]

It is an excellent opportunity for the local volunteers to engage with and enjoy local
musical talent.

Our volunteers will be enthusiastic, observant, adaptable and responsive and most of all
friendly!

Previous experience of helping at an outdoor event would be great but certainly not
essential! Local knowledge is helpful too. A love of music is essential!
